Obituary: Alyce F. Benson, 74, of West Haven
Alyce worked for 46 years as the office manager for the Amerling Co. and was heavily involved in many local organizations.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Alyce F. Benson, 74, of West Haven entered into rest on March 23, 2021.
She was the wife of William L. Benson. In addition to Bill, Alyce leaves her nephew and godson Leigh Jackson Jr. and his husband Nate Jackson.
She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Leigh Jackson Sr.

In 2016, Alyce retired from Amerling Co. where she worked for 46 years as the office manager.
Alyce volunteered tirelessly, side by side, with Bill for the City of West Haven and numerous veterans causes, including the West Haven Veterans Museum and the Vietnam Veterans Chapter.

An avid sports fan, her favorite teams include the Red Sox and the Redskins.
However NASCAR and The Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt, provided some of the most fun. She will remembered for her kindness, generosity and devotion to Bill.
Visitation will take place on Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. A prayer service will begin at 11:30.
Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Haven Veterans Museum, 30 Hood Terrace, West Haven, CT. 06516.
