Obituary: Jerome R. Barton, 85, of West Haven

Jerome, a proud US Army veteran and member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Hamden, worked as a tool & die maker for United Illuminating.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Jerome R. Barton, age 85, of West Haven passed away suddenly at home on April 25, 2021.

He was born in New Haven, son of the late Hugo and Gladys Dahlgard Barton.

Jerry is survived by his partner of 33 years, Gerlinde Kirbs of West Haven, his children Michele (Louis) Persiani of Hamden and Edward (Dawn) Clark of West Haven, his grandchildren, Erica Mennone, Raymond Barton, Melissa Miller, Hugh Barton Jr., Kara Nieves, Rosie, Stephanie and Mario Persiani and his great grandchildren, Hakeem, Kevin and Leland Miller, Ethen, Calianne and Owen Nieves.

He is also survived by Ramona (Ron) Pedemonte of NC, Gabriella (Larry) Palermo of East Haven and Michael and Matthew Pedemonte. Jerry was predeceased by his sons Jerome Barton Jr. and Hugh “Iggy” Barton.

Prior to his retirement, Jerry was a tool & die maker and most recently worked security for United Illuminating. He was a proud US Army Veteran and member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hamden.

Jerry enjoyed bowling and riding his motorcycle.

He was a former member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, the American Goldwing Association, the Harugari German American Club, and was a longtime friend of Bill W.
