Easton Cancels Annual Bonfire, Trunk-Or-Treat Still A 'Go'
Easton has cancelled its annual bonfire, which had been scheduled for Thursday night, Oct. 31.
EASTON, CT — In the face of severe drought conditions, the Town of Easton has cancelled its annual bonfire, which had been scheduled for Thursday night, Oct. 31.
The "Trunk-or-Treat" event is still a "go."
"At this point, even a small ember could produce a catastrophic result and our public safety officials are in unanimous agreement to cancel the bonfire. Hopefully, we can find a date in the future to have a town bonfire when conditions are safe," officials posted Monday on the town website.
