REDDING, CT — Larceny and an untimely death were atop the Redding Police Department blotter for Oct. 1–6.
A pedestrian walking in the middle of the road in the dark was struck and injured by a passing motorist, according to police. The accident occurred on Newtown Turnpike on Oct. 5. No further details are available, and the investigation remains open.
Police also investigated the untimely death of an elderly Winding Brook Lane resident of natural causes on Oct. 1.

On Oct. 3, a Redding Road resident reported the theft of a soil conditioner and a soil compactor from a job site overnight.
On Oct. Oct. 1, a resident complained to police that there was a scratch on her car that was not there when she parked it at the Community Center lot. This investigation remains open.
