The Mark Twain Library is holding a Community Engagement Session on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in order to solicit input from all members of the community to create a 3-5 year strategic plan. The Library’s goal is to discover what Redding residents feel they need in the community as a whole to advance their aspirations and priorities for the future of the town in general. Ultimately, by learning what the community wants overall, the Library can be well-informed about how the Library can better serve some of those needs and more equipped to develop goals and objectives to plan for future improvements in library facilities and services.

Members of the Library’s strategic planning committee have already begun to research the needs and desires of the community by personally interviewing various leaders within the community to incorporate their feedback and assessments of the community needs.

“It has been so fascinating and such a pleasure to talk to representatives in Redding and to learn what they think would benefit the people in Redding,” said Mark Twain Library Director Erin Dummeyer. “As a Library and as a hub of community activity in this small enclave of Redding, we want to meet the needs of the people living here, and I am excited to be a part of making that happen.”
