Open Fires Prohibited In Easton Until Further Notice: Fire Dept
The risk of brush fires is "very high" for all of Connecticut's eight counties, according to DEEP.
EASTON, CT — The Easton Fire Department is prohibiting any open fires in town, until further notice.
The notification from Fire Marshal Schuyler Sherwood was issued Tuesday, in accordance with the state's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection setting the risk of brush fires at "very high" for all of Connecticut's eight counties.
"The Easton Fire Department has recently seen an uptick in brush fire activity, many of these fires in remote areas requiring significant manpower and equipment to extinguish," Sherwood said in a news release.
