Blumenthal, Schumer to Introduce Grade Crossing Safety Bill
The bill would allocate more money for safety improvements to the Federal Highway Administration.

Senator Charles Schumer of New York and Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut plan to introduce legislation in Congress this month to be called the Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Safety Act of 2015.
They made the announcement at a press conference in Grand Central on Sunday. The impetus is the crash that killed six on Metro North earlier this month.

According to the New York Times, the bill “would increase funding for the Federal Highway Administration program that distributes money to states for safety improvements. The additional $50 million would increase the annual funding for the program, known as Section 130, to $270 million.”
