At approximately 3:00pm this afternoon, a routine opening of the Cribari Bridge was conducted to allow a vessel to pass through. Upon attempting to reclose the Bridge, there was reported to be a mechanical issue that was preventing this from happening. Initial reports were that this would be a temporary condition with a prompt resolution.

Since that time, further updates from workers at the scene were that once closed, there was an additional issue preventing the re-opening of the Bridge to vehicular traffic. At the time of this writing, the duration of repairs and the associated road closure is unknown.
