Car Smashes into Westport Spirit Shop

The plate glass storefront window was shattered when the Nissan Versa crashed into the store shortly after 6 p.m., but no other structural damage was noted, according to Assistant Chief Larry Conklin.

The vehicle, which was registered to New York, had to be towed from the storefront by a local wrecker, but there were no injuries to any of the occupants in the store at the time, Conklin said. Fire Fighters used barricade tape to create a safe zone until repairs could be made.
