The victim was pumping gas on the passenger side of their black 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS, when a witness saw someone get out of another vehicle and climb into the driver side of the SUV without the victim seeing it.
"The complainant finished pumping gas and then tried to get back into their car when they observed the suspect in the driver’s seat," Woods said. "The complainant began trying to open the driver’s door when the suspect fled the parking lot, causing the complainant to fall to the ground. A witness reported that the suspect vehicle and the stolen vehicle fled on Post Road East towards Compo Road North and then north on Compo Road North."
