Vehicle Fire Damages Westport Home: Fire Officials

WESTPORT, CT — A vehicle caught fire in the driveway of a home on Sturges Highway in Westport Saturday night, which was upgraded to a structure fire because the blaze damaged the home's garage.

No injuries were reported in the 7:15 p.m. fire, in which four fire engines were dispatched to the scene, according to Assistant Fire Chief Brian Meadows.

Damage to the home was limited to the garage area, as the fire was contained mostly outside.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Westport Fire Marshal’s office.
