Westport PD Bust Monroe Man With Stun Gun, Marijuana

When stopped the man on Post Road East they spotted a green, leafy substance on the passenger seat and located a stun gun in the trunk after searching the car, police said. 

Police initially stopped the man, later identified as 38-year-old Jason Smith, for a malfunctioning brake light.

Smith was charged with having a weapon in his vehicle and issued an infraction for possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

He was issued a $2,500 bond and is due in court June 26.
