Westport's Compo Beach Playground To Undergo Renovations

WESTPORT, CT — The playground at Compo Beach in Westport will be closed from March 1 through end of May for renovations, according to officials. A community build portion is scheduled for April 21 through April 26.

Among the improvements, the renovations enhance accessibility, safety, "and overall enjoyment for everyone." Westport is looking to raise $650,000 for the project; information can be found here.

  • New accessible equipment for children of all abilities.
  • Widened walkways for easier navigation.
  • Safer surfacing around the swings.
  • Replacement of the weathered fence to improve safety and aesthetics.

"These upgrades will preserve the playground's cherished role in our community while ensuring it remains a joyful and welcoming space for generations to come," officials said in a statement.
