Wondering what to read? Westport Library's Marta Campbell can recommend a few titles.
"The Woman Upstairs" by Claire Messud "has gotten a lot of publicity. It's good," Campbell, the library's head of collection management, said.
There's also Elizabeth Berg's "Tapestry of Fortunes," which Campbell described as a light read.
"Gulp" by Mary Roach explores the human digestive system. "It's science told in a zippy, popular way," Campbell said.
Currently, the books with the most holds -- or the most requested titles -- at Westport Library are:
- "The Interestings" by Meg Wolitzer
- "The Burgess Boys" by Elizabeth Strout
- "Life After Life" by Kate Atkinson
- "Lean In" by Sheryl Sandberg
- "The Hit" by David Baldacci
- "The Storyteller" by Jodi Picoult
- "The Good House" by Ann Leary
- "Six Years" by Harlan Coben
- "The Inferno" by Dan Brown (to be released May 14)
- "And the Mountains Echoed" by Khaled Hosseini (to be released May 21)
The library hosts a monthly "Book Chat" for readers to get together and discuss what they're reading. The next Book Chat will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4 in the Sheffer Reading Room.
