Connecticut Among Country's 10 Safest States: Study
A new study ranked the safest states in the country based on personal, financial road, workplace safety and more.

While the Nutmeg State faces an uncertain fiscal future, it remains a safe place to settle and raise a family. According to a new study from Wallethub, a personal finance and data service, the Nutmeg State was recently ranked as the seventh-safest state in the country. The state ranked No. 2 among states overall in personal and residential safety with an overall safety score of 59.98.
To determine the nation's safest states, Wallethub compared the states across five categories: personal and residential safety, financial safety, road safety, workplace safety and emergency preparedness. The categories were given a weight fore importance ranging from personal and residential safety to emergency preparedness. (To receive free news alerts from your hometown in Connecticut click here.)
