Georgetown Day 2017: Schedule, Details and More
The 15th annual event kicks off at noon Sunday. Here is what you need to know.

Now in its 15th year (thanks to our sponsors and the hard work of volunteers from Georgetown Village Restoration, Georgetown Community Association, Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department), the Annual Georgetown Day Festival is a one of a kind opportunity to experience an incredibly diverse array of food, drink, music, arts, entertainment and opportunities to participate in the community.
First of all, the beer tent will be provided by the Georgetown Lions Club and in its usual spot, so don't worry about that.

Our famous Chili Cook Off returns with an all you can eat ticket voucher and a ballot that begs your vote for the top three chilis of the day.
The Georgetown Volunteer Fire Dept. will have a cooling station and target practice set up at 15 Main next to the kids' games, so if you start to feel the heat, you can beat it quick with a few thousand gallons per second of Adam's ale.

The ubiquitous high striker and other games of skill and feats of strength (or vice versa) will be scattered throughout the festival for your enjoyment.
There will be live entertainment in two locations -- down on Main Street, and up on Old Mill.
Down on Main Street....
- 12:00 Pocket Hotties
- 1:30 Quiet Giant
- 2:50 CHILI COOK OFF AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT
- 3:00 Mid Atlantic Title
- 4:20 Jen Durkin and the Business
Up on Old Mill...

This is the second year we've presented live art and music up on Old Mill. What was at first a dilemma of where to put a stage quickly turned into a collaborative experiment in pushing boundaries and exploring possibilities.
This year, look out for the "Alien Circus Party" - an installation of sculpture by Jim Felice of the Trailer Box Project.
Festival Bio
Long ago a small band of business owners, residents and firemen decided to celebrate their seemingly forgotten little village with a good old fashioned block party. It was the 75th Anniversary of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department -- as good a reason as any to have some fun and make some noise -- and that's exactly what they did!
15 years later, the event known as "Georgetown Day" has grown to become one of the area's most unique and diverse events where locals from around the county gather for a day of family merriment, engaging in revelry that for one day, Georgetown, the enigma of Fairfield County, thrives with the vibrancy of 5000 people as it did for 100 years when it was the epicenter of commerce in the area.
The event itself is coordinated and hosted by Georgetown Village Restoration, Inc., Georgetown Volunteer Fire Dept., the Georgetown Lions Club and the Georgetown Community Association. Over the years, the local business owners and townsfolk that comprise these organizations have each played key roles in the revitalization and beautification of our little town.
2017 also marks the 250th Anniversary of the Town of Redding -- a nice round number and another fine reason to throw a party! We hope that you will join us this year as we put on our Sunday best and indulge in all sorts of food, drink, games, interactive entertainment, rock out to some of the area's most talented musicians, crown the supreme chili chef, support local artisans, learn more about what makes Georgetown so special.
