Grass Carp to Clean Kent Pond: Report

The town has applied for a permit to use the fish to clean up reeds in the pond.

WILTON, CT — The town's conservation commission is hoping to use grass carp to clean up Kent Pond, reports the Wilton Bulletin. Mike Conklin, the director of environmental affairs, told the publication that the town has applied for a permit and hopes to stock the pond this summer.

According to the report, the fish will clean up reeds that have become overgrown in the pond. The pond feeds into Rock Lake, which is a local reservoir.
