Merwin Meadows Pond Closed For 2025 Season In Wilton
Wilton closes Merwin Meadows pond and beach for 2025 due to storm damage; playground and pavilion remain open for limited public use.
WILTON, CT — The pond and beach at Merwin Meadows Park will remain closed for the 2025 summer season due to damage sustained during an August 2024 microburst, according to town officials.
The pond requires dredging and other remediation work and will not be accessible to the public while repairs are underway. However, the park will remain partially open, with its playground, picnic areas, pavilion, and restrooms available for use. The pavilion may be reserved for private events and will otherwise be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
To provide residents with an alternative, the Riverbrook Regional YMCA has partnered with the Town of Wilton to offer outdoor passes for beach and pond access at its facility. The YMCA’s summer pass includes entry to its pond, beach, splash pad, and 50-meter outdoor pool. The seasonal family pass costs $199 and is valid from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
