Oboe Duo Agosto to Perform a Concert at Wilton Library

Sometimes seductive, oftentimes playful, yet always engaging, the sounds of oboes will emanate from Wilton Library’s Brubeck Room on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., when Oboe Duo Agosto performs in a Connecticut’s Own concert, according to a release from the library.

The library's Sunday concert series opens with Ling-Fei Kang and Charles Huang and their Storytelling Oboes, a concert based on music inspired by poems, folktales, folk songs, myths and fables from all over the world.

The stories touch on life, love and allegory. The performers formed Oboe Duo Agosto in 2009 to promote the oboe’s popularity through original duos, arrangements and newly-commissioned work. Pieces composed by Vaughan Williams, Dorati, Pixiguinha, and others will be performed.
