Wilton Company Cited After Employee's Death: Report

The company was cited for two "serious" violations after an employee from Danbury died last year.

WILTON, CT — After nearly a year to date, a local company was cited in connection with an incident resulted in an employee's death, reports the News Times. KTI Utility Construction was cited for two "serious" violations of health and safety regulations after the death of 44-year-old Marco Silva of Danbury on June 9, 2016.

Silva died due to electrocution after the equipment he was using came in contact with a high-voltage transmission line.

The company was cited for failing to operate mechanical equipment at a safe distance from an exposed power line and doing so without tasking an employee with ensuring that the safe distance is observed.
