Boys, Girls Repeat as State Track Champs

The boys and girls ran away with the team titles Tuesday in Middletown.

, and while both teams seemed to win with ease in 2011, their victory margins were even larger Tuesday in Middletown.

According to the CIAC's final rankings, the girls bested second-place Darien by 38 points, and the boys didn't have their top spot challenged, topping second-place Fitch by 72 points.

The usual suspects churned out top-notch performances for the Warriors.

National sprinting star Sydnee Over, a junior at Windsor High, finished first in the 400-meter dash, the 800-meter run and anchored the girls to a first-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.

Senior Medinah Nabadduka also displayed her prowess in the 1600 meter run, finishing first by five seconds with a time of 5:04.30.

On the boys' side, Daniel Jamieson the Warriors with top finishes in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. He also contributed to the teams' win in the 4x100 meter relay.

Diallo Felicien and Kymm Gordon finished first and third in the boys' 300-meter hurdles, and a Dwight Meggie-anchored relay team took first in the 4x400 meter relay.

Senior Ben Compton, in his first year of track, continued to dominate. He placed first in the shot put and discus throw.

This is the second year of championship sweeps for Windsor. It's also the second consecutive season in which Windsor took home the Class L track trophy — .
