Here are some more recent outstanding accomplishments by college students hailing from Windsor.

WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

American International College, Springfield MA

  • Justice Ellison of Windsor was among 18 student-athletes recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of the American International College (AIC) Department of Athletics at the 2023-24 Athletics Awards Night held in the Butova Gymnasium on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Head softball coach Shalise Tolentino presented Ellison with the 2024 President's Cup Award. This award recognized the top male and female student-athletes in that academic year. Ellison of AIC men's basketball dominated the NE10 as the leading scorer in the conference, reaching his 1,000th career point as just a sophomore on his way to earning First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-Conference honors.
  • Claudier Albert of Windsor was among more than 40 students recognized by American International College (AIC) during its Academic Awards ceremony on April 23, 2024, in the College's Griswold Theatre. These awards shine a spotlight on excellence across all subject areas, celebrating the hard work and achievements of our learners. Albert, whose major is public health, was awarded with the College's Community Engagement Award.

Cedarville University, Cedarville OH

  • Emily Kijak of Windsor was named to the Dean's Honor List at Cedarville University for spring 2024. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Georgia State University, Atlanta GA

  • Gerad Smith of Windsor was named to the Dean's List at Georgia State University for the spring 2024 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais IL

  • Ainsley Sasportas of Windsor was named to the dean's list at Olivet Nazarene University during the recently completed spring 2024 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean's list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

Salve Regina University, Newport RI

  • Salve Regina University President Kelli Armstrong conferred 503 bachelor's degrees, 271 master's degrees and 22 doctoral degrees to members of the Class of 2024. In total, this year's graduating class was the University's largest ever at 823. Brenden Bellinger of Windsor received a BS in business administration degree, and Marcelino La Bella of Windsor received a BS in marketing degree.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • Springfield College has named five students from Windsor to the dean's list for academic excellence for the 2024 spring semester. They are Alexus Campbell, Taylor Falotico, Xavier Lockhart, Natalya Pennant and Tikihaih Perry.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • On Friday, May 10, Windsor resident Dreivone Townsend, who majored in architectural engineering, was bestowed a bachelor's degree at WPI's 155th Commencement. Over 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony.
