Jazz Comes to Broad Street

Whistle Stop Cafe is spicing things up during dinner.

Over the past year-and-a-half, Windsor's Whistle Stop Cafe has undegone a series of changes. The popular breakfast spot has moved its location for expanded floor space, and an expanded menu. Now it's expanding what it offers customers.

Whistle Stop is now offering live jazz music each Wednesday night.

Thanks to a connection the restaurant has with the Hartt School of Music, talented fresh faces like Aja Wilson, who performed in a trio Wednesday, will be rolling through town on a regular basis.

This newest change to the Broad Street restaurant has been a part of the businesses natural evolution, says owner Dana Plant.

"We wanted to provide customers with something that they can't find around here. And the acoustics allowed us to do that. The acoustics are great for this," she says.

Each group that performs at the restaurant, voted best breakfast place in Windsor by the Hartford Advocate three-years running, is local, including a former Windsor music instructor who will pass through next week.

Whistle Stop Cafe presents live, local jazz music each Wednesday from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
