Our Health and Construction in Windsor

Windsor resident Cathrine Cicero asks the town for help in avoiding pesticide-associated health risks at her home.

Good Morning,

I have sent the attached article to the governor and newspapers asking him how the DEEP can continually talk out of both sides of its collective mouth. At the very least, if you continue to ignore the health issues regarding the digging and movement of dirt at the Dollar Tree site, you should minimally begin to budget for remediation of homes and wells that are sure to come. Please take action to assist people before the health issues crop up.

As for the remediation process (Ed) Lally and Dollar Tree testified to — they will not work. We have begged the town to stop this before they stir up the chlordane, dieldren (and byproduct arsenic) that is made more volatile by exposing it to the sun.

I am asking the state to investigate DEEP and the director's own vague and not-site-specific testimony at the Dollar Tree meeting.

With the informatino ready at hand, it is unblievable that the town not do its best to protect its residents. You should also be aware that since the grasses at the site have finally been able to grow, there is no issue with the dirt blowing.

The illegal dump site of tobacco dirt at the 911 Rainbow Road site that is not covered, however, continues to blow onto everyone. We have notified the town and Eric Barz of this too, many times.
