Budget Workshops Coming to Town Hall

The first workshop will be held on January 31.

The Town Manager's office has announced dates for a series of workshops aimed at giving residents insight into how town operations are funded and where tax money goes.

Residents are being encouraged to attend the workshops to give input into the budget's construction for the upcoming fiscal year.

because of fixed rising costs (mostly fuel and health care prices) and the need for an education-budget increase.

The Town Manager's office is describing the workshops as informal, interactive gatherings that will give residents and opportunity to let government officials know how spending should be prioritized.

The first workshop will be held on January 31 at 7 p.m.

Workshops will also be held on February 22 and March 29.

Each workshop will be held at and run from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

A workshop originally scheduled for January 25 has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict with the Board of Education's public forum on the education budget the same night.
