Bank Forecloses on Woodbury Green South
T.D. Bank says the owner defaulted on an $8 million mortgage.
The empty Woodbury Green South commercial and retail building on 787 Main Street South is likely to continue to remain barren. T.D. Bank is foreclosing on the owner, Thomas Briggs, and his company Eyre LLC, for defaulted on the $8 million mortgage.
The shopping center has been vacant for years and is the former site of Corey’s, which was demolished. The building is listed as 42,000-square-feet and the property is 10.3 acres, according to real estate listing website LoopNet.

According to legal documents filed in Litchfield Superior Court, the foreclosure process began on July 23. According to the complaint by T.D. Bank, the owner, “absolutely and unconditionally guaranteed the prompt payment” of the mortgage.
The building has long been a controversial subject in Woodbury. In September Woodbury Patch asked readers what they’d like to see fill the vacancy. Dozens of suggestions were made, including that of a café, bike shop, teen center and more.
