WOODBURY, CT — Superintendent Joseph Olzacki was terminated by the school board in the early morning hours Thursday, according to The Waterbury Republican-American. The board voted unanimously to terminate Olzacki following nine hours of testimony that extended from Wednesday night into the next morning.

Olzacki was accused of preventing teachers from getting a COVID-19 vaccine in January so that friends and political insiders could jump the line, falsifying his resume, improperly campaigning against a school board employee, among other allegations.

The termination process began in June following an independent investigation of Olzacki's conduct.
