PRESS RELEASE

WOODBURY, CT — Following a successful opening weekend of Hemingway’s Promise, directed by Sarah Robards, Community Theatre at Woodbury is thrilled to announce the remainder of its 12th season. The lineup continues the theatre’s tradition of celebrating local talent, storytelling, and community spirit.

Next on the calendar is Once… More at Christmas, curated and directed by Kris and Bill Geddes. The event reunites the cast of last spring’s sold-out production of Once for an evening of Irish Christmas music and stories. This special production will take place during the Woodbury Town Christmas Festival (December 5-7), offering audiences a joyful way to celebrate the season with family, friends, and neighbors.

“We were so moved by the response to Hemingway’s Promise,” said Maureen Denver, Artistic Director of Community Theatre at Woodbury. “That production not only honored local playwright B. L. Walker but also gave audiences the opportunity to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a cause close to many in our community. In true CTAW tradition, our upcoming productions will continue that spirit of giving, with donation opportunities benefiting our local food bank. We love our community and are proud to keep creating theatre that connects, uplifts, and gives back.”

The season continues in March with The Gin Game, directed by Gus Bottazzi, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play that explores companionship, wit, and the passage of time through an unlikely friendship formed over a card game. The season will conclude in May with Exit Laughing, directed by Keli Solomon, a heartwarming comedy about friendship, loss, and rediscovering joy when life throws the unexpected your way.
