Congratulations to Francis and Baxter for winning NFSAW Contest!

Despite our worldwide pandemic, the needs of animal shelters to care for and prepare rescues for loving homes hasn't subsided! Every year the NFSAW raises much needed funds with their popular Calendar contest to win a Pet Portrait Gift Certificate from Portraits by ShawnaLee.

Portraits by ShawnaLee is proud to congratulate Father John Francis X Palatucci, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist, and his cat Baxter as the winners of the 2021 NFSAW Calendar contest! Baxter, a parish cat, now has his portrait hand-drawn in Charcoal. Some of Baxter's charm carries over from tougher days on the street before he found his fur-ever home! "Yes! It’s beautiful. The mission of the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society, Inc.is to
offer refuge, medical care, and the opportunity for a second chance for
life to needy dogs and cats; to protect animals from cruelty or neglect;
to foster a public sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward all
living creatures; to encourage and promote responsible pet ownership;
and to reduce companion animal overpopulation through humane education
and spay/neuter advocacy.

Portraits by ShawnaLee is a proud supporter of local animal rescue organizations including NFSAW, Catherine Violet Hubbard Sanctuary, and Whiskers Pet Rescue. ShawnaLee loves creating portraits in Charcoals or oils and offers art lessons for all abilities year round in person and via zoom.

Previous years winners include Whitney Will and her cat Fury! Whitney opted to use her gift certificate towards a portrait of both Fury and Stitch!
