Good Old Fashioned Pot Roast

Start This In Your Crockpot In The Morning – Come Home To Dinner Already Made!

The Crockpot, in my opinion, is a great invention! You add uncooked items to it in the morning and ta da ! by evening they become dinner. This pot roast has lots of flavor due to the overnight marinade. Try it!

1 T soy sauce

1 T Worcestershire sauce

3 to 3/12 lb. boneless chuck roast

1 large onion, peeled, quartered and sliced

10 oz. container of whole button mushrooms, sliced

2 T brandy

1/3 cup red wine

sprinkle of Herbs de Provence

Combine the garlic, horseradish, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce and if possible, marinate the whole roast in the mixture the night before (desired) or for a few hours.

The next day, place the onions and mushrooms in the base of the Crockpot container. Add the roast and its marinade juices, and the brandy, wine and herbs.

Cook on low for about 8 – 9 hours. The meat should fall apart when done.
