'History Bites' Lecture Taking Place at Flanders Nature Center

Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust curator Marc Chabot will speak on the legacy of Flanders' founder, artist Natalie Van Vleck.

Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust curator Marc Chabot will be presenting a “History Bites” lecture at Flanders.

“History Bites” is a free lunchtime lecture series designed to bring topics of local history to the attention of the regional community. Donations are welcome.

Chabot will discuss the legacy of Flanders’ founder, accomplished artist Natalie Van Vleck, and the discovery only after her death of some of her paintings and drawings that were hidden from public view in the attic of the historic Van Vleck house.

He will take participants on a visual tour including a viewing of some of the original paintings. The event will take place at noon Thursday, April 14, at The Studio.

The Studio is located on the Van Vleck Farm and Nature Sanctuary at the intersection of Flanders and Church Hill Roads in Woodbury.
