The Flanders Nature Center in Woodbury provides environmental education, arts programming and land stewardship across more than 2,400 protected acres in the region. Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department

The Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department protects the community by responding to fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents and other urgent calls throughout town. Residents aged 18 and older can train to become volunteer firefighters, with all gear and instruction provided; certified EMS providers may join the Ambulance Auxiliary to support medical calls. Middlebury teens ages 14 to 18 can also get involved through the Juniors program, which offers hands-on experience and training.
