Man Working On Car Struck On Highway In Woodbury: State Police

The 24-year-old man ended up being pinned between two vehicles, state police said.

WOODBURY, CT — A 24-year-old Prospect man, was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Route 132 in Woodbury on Wednesday afternoon, state police said.

A 2016 Volvo was parked in the southbound travel lane on Bethlehem Road partially in the shoulder, prior to Nonnewaug Road in Woodbury, state police said.

The Prospect man was working at the rear bed portion of the vehicle. A 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport driven by a Bethlehem woman was driving southbound on Bethlehem Road and struck the man, "as it collided with the rear end" of the Volvo "pinning" the man "between the two vehicles," state police said.

The man was extricated and taken to Waterbury Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
