Middlebury 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places
Here's everything you need to know concerning the Middlebury local elections, including the candidates, polling places, and voting hours.

MIDDLEBURY, CT — On Nov. 7, Middlebury residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: the town council and school board.
Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

The Democratic candidate is J. Paul Vance, the Republican candidate is Elaine M. R. Strobel and the Petitioning candidates are Jennifer Mahr and Shannon Cavallo.
Town Treasurer
The Democratic candidate is Linda D. Herrmann and the Republican candidate is Janine R. Bowler.
Tax Collector
The lone candidate is Cindy R. Palomba, who is endorsed by both political parties.
Board of Finance Full Term
The Democratic candidate is Joseph J. Drauss and the Republican candidate is Vincent F. Cipriano.
Board of Finance To Fill A Vacancy
The Democratic candidate is Francis L. Barton Jr. and the Republican candidate is John Jenusaitis.
Board of Assessment Appeals
The Democratic candidate is Stephen R. Ferrucci III and the Republican candidate is Robert J. Flanagan Jr.
Police Commissioners
The Democratic candidate is Francis L. Barton Jr. and the Republican candidate is Rita H. Smith.
Water Pollution Control Authority
The Democratic candidates are Thomas Gilbertie and Kristin R. Couture and the Republican candidates are Ted Mannello, Paul Phillips and Robert W. Smith.
Library Trustees
The two candidates are Democrats Margaret A. Vance and John A. Moriarty.
Pomperaug Valley Water Authority
The Democratic candidate is James A. Petrauskas and the Republican candidate is Brian D. Shaban.
Regional Board of Education
The Democratic candidates are Sally D. Romano and Allison Kimble-Cusano and Republican candidates include Jeffrey D. Olsen and John Jenusaitis.
