Obituary: Cecile Bernard, 89, of Woodbury

WOODBURY, CT - Cecile Bernard, 89, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully Tues., August 20, 2019, at Waterbury Hospital.

Cecile was born May 13, 1930 in Nice, France. She lived in Bethlehem for many years where she was a communicant of Church of the Nativity prior to moving to Woodbury several years ago. She was the longtime companion and caregiver of Caroline Ferriday until her passing. She also cared for many local children and their families over the years. She traveled extensively during her life and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her adored grandchildren.

Cecile leaves her son, Anthony DeCicco and his wife Christine of Woodbury; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Megan, and Taylor DeCicco; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews in France.

Cecile's family would like to thank the wonderful people at Watertown Convalarium for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning 10 a.m. from Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, to Church of the Nativity for Mass at 11 a.m. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning 9-10 a.m.
