Region 15 Elementary Schools Compete for Book Bowl Title
Student teams from Region 15 elementary schools will be participating in the Book Bowl held on May 16.

Middlebury, CT- Student teams from Region 15 elementary schools will be participating in the Region 15 Book Bowl Competition at the Southbury Public Library on Monday, May 16th at 6:00pm.
During this past week, library media specialists at the four Region 15 elementary schools hosted in-school competitions. Winning teams from the individual school-based events will represent its school at the town library to compete against the other schools for the Book Bowl title.

This is the second year that the event was hosted district wide. “The Book Bowl Competition is modeled after the contest that was held at Gainfield,” said Gainfield Elementary School Library Media Specialist Christine Parker. Coordinators of the event include Elementary School Media Specialists Nadia Hakim (Pomperaug Elementary School), Christina O’Neil (Long Meadow Elementary School), and Stephanie Robinson (Middlebury Elementary School), along with Southbury’s Head Children’s Librarian Joan Stokes and Teen Librarian Heather Aronson.
Teams of 5th grade students will be quizzed on 2016 Intermediate Nutmeg Books, listed below:

“Our schools are collaborating now more than ever and this is a fun and educational way to celebrate reading together,” Parker said.
Cutline Photo 2016 Book Bowl: The “Book Bunnies” from Long Meadow Elementary School are ready to compete in the district competition on Monday, May 16th. Jacob Wells, Chloe D'Amato, Kayleigh Ecsedy (team captain), Ella Palladino, and Lucas D'Amico.
