Thomas “Tom” Fredrick Wrogg Sr., age 82, beloved husband of Marjorie McIntire Wrogg of the Villages, FL (formally of Connecticut), passed away peacefully at the Cornerstone Hospice House, of the Villages, FL on Sunday July 20th 2025. Born in Waterbury, CT on November 26, 1942, he was the
youngest son born to the late Frances Wrogg, Sr. and Ann Fitzgerald Wrogg. Tom was raised in Middlebury, CT, attended local schools in Middlebury and Waterbury, and also attended Mattatuck College, now known as Naugatuck Valley Community College. Throughout his career, Tom held
many positions, he was the owner and operator of T. Wrogg liquid transport for many years and retired from Standard Oil of Connecticut, Inc. in 2005. A passionate golfer, Tom moved to the Villages in 2011 and played with his golfing buddies as often as possible. His other passions included watching his grandchildren grow and supporting them in finding their own paths. He loved dancing to live music, card games, and playing table games with family and friends. Tom was a great listener and called daily from Florida to stay current with family affairs and loved ones.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by devoted sons Todd (Debbie) Wrogg of Beacon Falls, CT and Benjamin (Kelli) Wrogg of Seymour, CT; stepsons, Christopher Doyle of Boston, MA and Mathew Doyle of Woodbury, CT; cherished grandchildren, Emily (Myles) Allen of Seymour, CT, Allison Wrogg of Ft, Collins, CO. and Eric Wrogg of Beacon Falls, CT. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a sister-in-law, Anita Wrogg, of Naugatuck, CT, a niece, Terri Lynn Ashe of Naugatuck, CT, a nephew Chris Wrogg of Oakville, CT and many beloved friends. Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Ronley Wrogg and a sister, Mary Daniels. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be announced in the future.
