Two elementary schoolgirls rode to the Mitchell Elementary School in a Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department truck on Friday May 9th. Pictured from right to left are Frankie Voice, age 11, in the fifth grade, with her neighbor buddy Lyla Legge, age 7, in the first grade. Both say their favorite subject is science. Frankie’s parents earned her the ride on the rainy day by winning a silent auction at a PTO fundraiser earlier in the year. The girls’ carriage was Engine 4 and their escort was Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. Chief Morgan noted that in addition to similar community events, the department responded to emergency calls at the rate of one a day in the first quarter of 2025. ###
