Water Co: See Photo ID before Letting in Workers
Aquarion, which serves 47 CT towns and cities, says criminals have been posing as water supply company workers to gain access to private homes and businesses.

Criminals are posing as utility workers and gaining access to people’s homes and businesses in Connecticut, officials with the public water supply company say, so residents should be cautious when approached by anyone showing up to do “maintenance.”
Criminals are posing as utility workers and gaining access to people’s homes and businesses in Connecticut, officials with the public water supply company say, so residents should be cautious when approached by anyone showing up to do “maintenance.”
Aquarion says residents should be especially cautious if someone shows up with no appointment, and should refuse entrance without first seeing photo identfiication.
The Bridgeport-based utility’s staffers and contract workers are required to present that ID, President and CEO Charles V. Firlotte said in a press release.
“We also encourage any customer who is unsure or has concerns, to call our Customer Service Department [at 800-732-9678],” he said.
