WOODBURY, CT — A woman was killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash in Woodbury on Monday morning, according to state police.

A Volkswagen Passat was traveling east on Route 64 near Old Sherman Hill Road at 7:34 a.m. For unknown reasons, the car went into the opposite lane and struck a Nissan Rogue head on.

The Nissan's driver, Marvia Morrison, 34, of Waterbury, was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The Volkswagen's driver was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other cars traveling west were involved in a subsequent crash.

One of the drivers was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver was evaluated at the scene of the accident and refused further medical attention.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
