WOODBURY March 1, 2025 – The Woodbury Finance Committee got its first look at the Fire Department’s new $70,000 Command Vehicle at its meeting Saturday March 1st, 2025. Fire Chief Janet B. Said Zulpa, “The town needs this to keep everyone safe. We are pleased it’s here. It’s a critically important replacement item that’s first on-scene at any emergency. It It was also fully budgeted.” Among other enhancements, the vehicle reduces the volunteer department’s paperwork load. It keeps electronic track of alerts, call-outs, mileage, fuel usage, dates, times, coordination with police and ambulances services as well as other items on a printable spreadsheet. The communication system links all department officers for command purposes. At the meeting following the presentation, Chief Morgan added that actual expenses for the department’s $358,000 fiscal year budget were three percent below estimates despite the record number of 425 call-outs last year . ###
