Woodbury Firefighters Actuate Roadblocks in High School Evacuation Drill

Nearly 700 Pupils Moved to Safe Location

The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department blocked off roads Wednesday morning Oct 22nd in an evacuation exercise that saw 670 pupils from Nonnewaug High School taken to a remote location before return to classes. In the photo Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan confers with fire, police, and school officials on a handheld radio at the Minortown Road closing. Amy Clark, town emergency coordinator, summed up, “Knowing our capabilities will make us more successful if we have to respond to emergencies.”
