WOODBURY – The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept engaged in RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) training Tuesday night Feb 18th 2025. Pictured is a drill in which a supposedly injured Firefighter Haden Ware has his empty air bottle swapped for a full one and is prepared for evacuation by fellow Firefighter Tony Delia. Speed is the key in RIT rescues, and every firetruck has a designated set of RIT duplicate tools reserved for extraction of an injured colleague. Woodbury rescued one its own captains 18 months ago when a floor in a burning building collapsed and trapped him unable to move for nearly half an hour. He was dug out and saved by RIT-trained Woodbury firefighters. ###
