Woodbury Firefighters Step Out Smartly

Also Preparing Annual Carnival in Hollow Park for Labor Day Weekend

WOODBURY – The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department stepped out smartly at the Bridgewater Country Fair Parade on August 15 as Firefighter Jason Hatstat, a former Marine, called cadence for the contingent. Pictured from left: Matthew Daly Lehman, Matt Gereg, Fire Capt. Steve Cunningham, Nick Kiessling, Raphael Sbarge, Mel Brenner, and Fire Lt. Hatstat. Behind are Mitch Chester driving Woodbury’s 1947 Jeep Firetruck and Earl Gillette at the wheel of the 1958 Mack Firetruck. Bridgewater’s event precedes the Woodbury Firefighters’ Carnival coming up over the Labor Day Weekend at month’s end. As always, the 2025 Woodbury Fire three-day carnival August 28th to 30th in Hollow Park will feature food, rides, music, and drawing for prizes donated by local merchants. It will wind up with spectacular fireworks Saturday night August 30th to signal the end of summer and the start of the school year.

In additional photos at the Bridgewater Fair: Woodbury Fire Captain Steve Cunningham adjusts the tieclip on Mitch Chester’s uniform prior to the march. The Woodbury firefighters also lined up in front of Engine 1. From left: Firefighters Rafael Sbarge, Former Chief Chuck Kiessling, Mitch Chester, Fire Capt.
