Woodbury First Selectman Passes Away After Suffering Heart Attack

WOODBURY, CT - Woodbury First Selectman William J. Butterly, Jr., 75, has passed away after suffering a heart attack.

Butterly's brother, Barry, shared the sad news on social media on Saturday morning.

Here is what he said:

"It it with the utmost sadness to tell you that my brother William J. Butterly Jr. has passed away from a heart attack early this morning.

"He was also the first selectman of Woodbury, Conn. Words cannot express how sad I am. Prayers to his wife, Judy.

"I feel lost. I'm so broken hearted. I love you my brother."

William Butterly was serving his third term as first selectman.
