The 1,000 Bed Challenge Pairs Home Buying With Good Cause

The Wydler Brothers Team and A Wider Circle are meeting a need of D.C.'s impoverished.

Real estate professionals hear about beds all the time. Prospective buyers walk into a room and proclaim, “We’ll put the bed here! Or maybe over here.” But when one regional real estate firm heard about a unique need for hundreds of beds, they made a unique pledge for 2015.

The Wydler Brothers Team is partnering with D.C. nonprofit A Wider Circle to provide 1,000 beds to impoverished D.C. metro residents with The 1,000 Bed Challenge.

A Wider Circle is working to end poverty in the D.C. area by providing essential items. One of the top requests from clients has been beds, with up to 12,000 requests in a year.

For every home bought or sold with a Wydler Brothers agent in 2015, the lead agent will donate a bed to the campaign. The Wydlers are also working with business partners who will also donate a bed when they’re involved in a property purchase or sale.

These partners include KVS Title; Client First Settlement Services; Jonathan Neal of Metropolitan Moving and Storage, LLC; Patrick Gardner with 1st Portfolio Lending; Jonathan Okun and Ryan Dailey with Prosperity Home Mortgage; and Mark Hennessy with State Farm Insurance.

The Wydler Brothers Team was formed by Hans and Steve Wydler specializing in fine homes and condominiums throughout the greater D.C. metro area.

“Our team is thrilled about partnering with A Wider Circle and hope to not only meet but exceed the 1,000 Bed Challenge,” said Steve Wydler. “We love the idea that helping people buy and sell homes will result in helping local families in need.”
