2 Kids Shot Getting Off DC Metrobus, Suspect Sought: Police
A third victim, an adult man, was injured in the shooting near the intersection of 14th and Sheridan Street Northwest, police said.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 6-year-old and a 9-year-old were among three people shot Wednesday when a fight broke out on a Metro bus in Washington, D.C., authorities confirmed.
Metropolitan Police said the shooting happened shortly after 4 p.m. near 14th Street Northwest and Sheridan Street Northwest. During a news conference held after the shooting, Chief Robert Contee said the bus was heading northbound on 14th Street when a group of people boarded the bus and began assaulting a rider.
Contee said when the fight moved to the street and sidewalk, one person took out a gun and started shooting.

Police said the children were traveling home from school and were accompanied by adults.
In addition to the two children, an adult man was also struck by gunfire, police said.

Authorities said all three victims were taken to nearby hospitals. Their injuries appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening.
Authorities are searching for the suspected shooter. Police described him as a Hispanic male in his 20s wearing dark pants and a dark jacket. Anyone with information about the suspect should call 911 or 202-727-9099, or text 50411.
