7-Eleven Discusses Expansion at ANC Meeting
The 7-Eleven on P Street in Georgetown is pursuing plan to expand the store.
Two Georgetown residents expressed concerns about the location on P Street at the ANC2E meeting on Tuesday night.
William McNamara, the block caption of the Citizens Association of Georgetown, said he wanted the entrance of the store to remain on P Street. The store has proposed moving the main entrance to the corner of P Street and 27th Street, in part to satisfy standards established by the American Disabilities Act.
"We live there," McNamara said. "We see this day in and day out."

McNamara also advised 7-Eleven representatives that he was concerned about the light eminating from the 24-hour convenience store.
Monica Roache, also a nearby resident, said she wanted to make sure the historical integrity of the neighborhood is maintained. Both Roache and McNamara said they had repeatedly tried to reach out to 7-Eleven representatives, but had not received a response.

"All we can do is start a dialogue," Lewis said.
