Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week From Humane Rescue Alliance

These pets are searching for their forever homes. Will it be with you? They currently are at the Humane Rescue Alliance.

WASHINGTON, DC — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available through the Humane Rescue Alliance. Humberto, a.k.a. Bert, is the best feline friend out there. He loves watching birds, playing with feather wands and having fun. Bert would do terrifically in a home with plenty of space to climb and explore, along with toys and puzzle feeders to keep his mind sharp. Since he's a bit shy around new people, he needs someone who can give him time and space to adjust.

Gary is one of the best trained, most loving dogs his foster parents have ever welcomed. He knows all the basic commands, is crate-trained for nighttime, housed trained and sit in your lap whenever you are sitting (all 73 pounds of him). Gary loves hiking, long walks around the city and cheese. He is still learning loose leash walking and since he is a strong boy, he will need an adopter that is willing to work on this with him. He doesn't need many toys or forms of entertainment, just your love, and he wouldn't mind if he can spend some time sunbathing. He doesn't bark, loves to hike, yearns for car rides, understands "no," and naps at your feet or on the couch when you work. Gary would make a great addition to any family that would love this excitable goof and would be willing to continue his training.

Astro is a shining beacon of a dog and pro wagger of wags. Be careful, as his tail is heavy but his heart is light. He wags all day and cozies up to you at every chance. Astro loves a good-natured hop and paws out to feel your face against his. Each day his foster family sees more and more positive reactions from him while walking on leash and being around other dogs. Astro just needs some yummy treats to remind him that he can stay relaxed on walks. He will thrive in a home where he can shine as an only dog and he'll definitely adore your children, family, friends and everyone you meet. There's only constant love this guy.

Diego is a playful, cuddly boy with a gorgeous black coat and an elegant fluffy tail that he explores the world with. He's a little shy at first but once he gets to know you, he is happy to sit in your lap and receive unending affection. He's happy to have you play with him or he can keep himself entertained with any form of ball, which in turn will keep you entertained. He's looking forward to padding around with his big fluffy paws in his new forever home.
