Did you know Friday was Fry Day? <a href="http://www.bgrtheburgerjoint.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">BGR The Burger Joint</a> in nearby Dupont Circle (1514 Connecticut Ave., NW) will be celebrating National French Fry Day by giving away free fries from 3 to 8 p.m. According to a press release issued by the company, "The average American eats 29 pounds of french fries per year." Don't plan on consuming all 29 pounds at once, though. The restaurant is limiting the giveaway to one free item per person.  The walk from Georgetown to Dupont should be enough to burn off all those calories, right?
